Study in Canada from Bangladesh

Canada's draw is the work permit that follows the degree: up to three years, with no employer sponsorship needed. Combine that with co-op programs that pay while you study, and the total cost of a Canadian qualification can be lower in practice than the sticker price suggests.

College or university

Public colleges run two-year diplomas with strong employment outcomes and lower fees; universities run three- and four-year degrees. Both are DLI-approved and both qualify for the post-graduation work permit — the right choice depends on your budget and your target job, not on prestige.

The financial file

Canada's study permit turns on a clean financial file: a GIC, first-year tuition paid, and a clear source of funds. We prepare that file with you before anything is filed.

  • The co-op placement paid enough to cover a good part of my second-year fees. uniThink explained how the co-op stream worked before I chose the college, which is why I picked it.

Questions

Canada — your questions answered

Yes, provided the university itself is recognised. We check the current recognition list for every institution before it goes on your shortlist — for medical programmes that means BMDC, and for other degrees the relevant accreditation body in Canada.

The budget table above shows indicative totals including tuition and living costs. The exact figure depends on the university, the city and your entry level, and we give you a written breakdown before you pay anything.

Most universities run two main intakes a year, with some offering a third. Applications should start three to six months before the intake you want, because visa processing needs its own runway.

Many universities accept an English-medium academic background or their own placement test instead of IELTS. Where IELTS is required, most bachelor programmes ask for 6.0 and masters programmes for 6.5.

Work rights differ by country and visa type. We explain what your specific visa allows before you apply, rather than after you arrive.

The visa steps above set out the route. Processing usually runs between three weeks and three months depending on the country and the time of year, which is why we file early.
