MBBS in China for Bangladeshi students

China has taught medicine to international students in English for more than two decades, and a number of its universities appear on the World Directory of Medical Schools and are recognised by the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council. That recognition is the whole game: a degree from a university outside the BMDC list cannot be registered in Bangladesh, however good the campus looks in a brochure.

What the six years look like

The programme runs five years of teaching plus a one-year internship. The first two years are pre-clinical, the third year moves into the teaching hospital, and the final years are clinical rotations. Chinese language classes run alongside the medical curriculum so that you can take histories on the ward.

What it costs

Tuition sits between BDT 3.5 and 5 lakh a year, with hostel and living costs adding roughly BDT 2 to 3 lakh. Over the full programme, most students finish between BDT 25 and 40 lakh — well under the private-college route at home.

How we shortlist

We check the current BMDC list first, then the university's WDOMS entry, the English-medium teaching licence and the hospital attachment. Only universities that clear all four make it onto your shortlist.

  • The first agency I visited could not tell me whether the university was BMDC-listed. uniThink showed me the current list and explained why two of my shortlisted universities were not on it. That conversation saved my career.

Questions

China — your questions answered

Yes, provided the university itself is recognised. We check the current recognition list for every institution before it goes on your shortlist — for medical programmes that means BMDC, and for other degrees the relevant accreditation body in China.

The budget table above shows indicative totals including tuition and living costs. The exact figure depends on the university, the city and your entry level, and we give you a written breakdown before you pay anything.

Most universities run two main intakes a year, with some offering a third. Applications should start three to six months before the intake you want, because visa processing needs its own runway.

Many universities accept an English-medium academic background or their own placement test instead of IELTS. Where IELTS is required, most bachelor programmes ask for 6.0 and masters programmes for 6.5.

Work rights differ by country and visa type. We explain what your specific visa allows before you apply, rather than after you arrive.

The visa steps above set out the route. Processing usually runs between three weeks and three months depending on the country and the time of year, which is why we file early.
